When winter comes, fresh fruit comes at a premium. Is it really a significant price jump? Not necessarily, but depending on where you live, winter doesn't see a lot of locally produced vegetables and fruits.
Frozen produce is harvested and frozen at it's peak making it a great substitute for fresh during the winter. One thing to keep in mind when using frozen fruit / veg is the water content. Frozen produce tends to let out a little more water when cooking so make sure to monitor this when cooking!
