The world's first lab-grown, 3D printed steak was created by Israeli company Aleph Farms. There's a long way to go before lab-grown hits supermarket shelves globally, but I'm sure we've all got our questions.
Head to the ANIMAL NEWS page for a breakdown of some of the most burning questions about lab-grown meat and what I think this means for the future of meat consumption.

A new report from the Born Free Foundation, outlining the perils of giraffes in captivity, has sparked a call for all European zoos to phase out giraffe captivity. The report comes on the anniversary of Marius the giraffe's shocking cull, which shocked activists across the globe. Learn more under the ANIMAL NEWS tab!
The Dallas Safari Club is currently holding their annual Trophy Hunting Convention, auctioning off opportunities to slaughter some of our planet's most endangered animals. In some cases, these hunts could fetch close to $70, 000 and astonishingly, that seems to be an acceptable rate.
We are in the midst of an extinction crisis, like it or not, and we cannot continue to promote the slaughter of endangered animals to wealthy people who have such a salacious need to kill. Learn more under the ANIMAL NEWS tab! Spain has announced plans to ban the hunting of endangered Iberian wolves after their numbers plummeted to fewer than 2, 000 individuals in the wild. Too often with conservation, we are rushing at the last minute to protect a species facing inevitable extinction. Conservation needs to be something we are working on before these species head towards extinction, not rushing to do so when time is of the essence.
Head to the ANIMAL NEWS page for the story and my thoughts on conservation.
South Africa customs intercepted 3.5 million dollars worth of rhino horns headed for Malaysia after flagging the packages as suspicious. It is clear that poaching and the illegal wildlife trade continue to plague our planet's most vulnerable species. Learn more under the ANIMAL NEWS tab.
I'm so excited y'all! It's officially official, everything is up and ready for purchase through Teespring. This whole experience has been super fun, and I'm actually really looking forward to continuing to add new pieces as time goes on. In fact, I already have some fun designs in mind for some joggers and other apparel, so I'm going to be quite busy over the next couple of weeks! So far, there are 3 sweaters from Teespring's "Conscious Line", all of which were hand drawn by my father and painted by myself :) Each sweater comes with a donation to an environmental organization which I'm super happy about it. This will be in addition to the donation I make to a conservation organization every other month. I'm thinking I will choose a new organization every couple of months to send some proceeds to. I've already started making a list of organizations that I want to support, and I cannot wait to make these donations with all of your support.
Creating these products to benefit conservation organizations is so close to my heart. As I've gotten older and done more reporting on the perils animals on our planet face, conservation has become so important to me. The fact that we could see the extinction of some of our planet's most beloved species shocks and saddens me. It saddens me even more so that we still have people participating in trophy hunting, putting bullets in the heads of animals that face the possibility of extinction. It sickens me that people still wear fur, despite countless ads demonstrating the utter cruelty animals bred for fur endure.
We have to choose compassion whenever possible. Wearing one of my hoodies or even a mask will show your commitment to conservation. It will show your commitment to animals who need us now more than ever. Plus, they're really cute and hopefully by wearing them, you'll be able to spark conversation about conservation and why it is so very important. I just want to thank you guys for your support over the past 6ish years. It's been so fun to continue to grow on his blog and take all of you along with me through this process. Make sure to take selfies and tag me on social media when you're wearing your cute conservation garb. I want to see y'all rocking your hoodies and masks <3 As I said, there will be more to come, so stay tuned and once again, thank y'all from the bottom of my heart. Visit the link at the top of this post and it will take you directly to my TeeSpring store. Much love y'all, HAPPY VEG |
