My first thought out of the box was that they were pretty dinky for being pub style. I don't know, I guess that indicated to me that they were going to be like, big and juicy looking.
BUY! - If you're a strip snob, you won't enjoy these. However, if you're looking for a little late night snack actsch, these are cheap and relatively satisfying.

I can still remember when A & W released their Beyond Meat Burger; one of the first fast food companies to bring in a popular plant-based meat for their menu. As expected, chaos ensued shortly after the release. The mayonnaise wasn't vegan and it was widely reported (and confirmed) that the plant-based patties were cooked on the same grill as their meaty counterparts. The community was naturally upset but also conflicted; do we support plant-based options that aren't perfect with the intention of demonstrating a necessity for plant-based availability?
It's incredible to me how far we've come in the almost 20 years I've been a vegetarian. I'll tell you, when this all started for me, it was not an easy journey. I struggled to find plant-based options at all of the restaurants I regularly frequented, and what I did find, was often uninspired and lackluster. I can't tell you how many Greek wraps I ate in the first two years of going vegetarian. Now look at us, almost every fast food joint you can think of has partnered with one of the leading plant-based brands to create unique and enjoyable options for vegans / vegetarians alike. At the end of the day, these companies are often still rooted in cruelty, but we must continue demonstrating a necessity and demand for plant-based options if we want to continue to see growth in that market. Our grocery stores are catching up; there's always something new to try whenever I head to the grocery store and honestly, places like Odd Burger for example, are the result of a clear demand for vegan and plant-based fast food. It's exciting to think of where we're going to be in the next ten or so years. McDonald's has even got their McPlant heading to the market; surprising considering they've been stubborn when it comes to offering anything plant-based whatsoever. (In Canada at least.) Have you tried any of the leading fast-food plant-based options? What did you think? HAPPY VEGPresident's Choice has really expanded their plant-based line with everything from appetizers to burgers & sausages available. I've had the pleasure of trying some of the products from their line and today we're looking at 2 of the ones I recently tried. Let's find out if these are worth a buy or if you should leave them on the shelf!

HAPPY VEGI'm always excited when a new plant-based product comes out from a leading chain restaurant. First of all, I'm obviously excited because I want to try said product, but also seeing plant-based products on menus becoming more mainstream is exciting in itself. We've got chik'n, burgers, and nuggies, popping up on menus all across the board and I'm happy to taste test and let y'all know whether it's worth a buy or if you should save your $ for the next one.
VERDICT - BYPASSIs this a case of old oil, employee negligence leading to the patty being overcooked, or is it simply that dry and unpleasant? Hard to say, but I don't think I'd be willing to try it again to find out the answer to that question. I've had better and this one missed the mark.
VERDICT - BUY!These were definitely the best part of this bypass or buy! As I said, they were juicy and flavourful & had a good breading also. The dip selections weren't ideal but overall, I'd probably buy them again. I don't know that I'd go out of my way to place an order JUST for the nugs, but I'd happily add them to an already placed order! Have you guys tried the new PIZZA PIZZA plant-based offerings? What did you think? www.pizzapizza.ca HAPPY VEG
BYPASS or BUY?BUY! - Buy these. There's nothing else to say. They're the best chik'n product I've tried to date. Even my father was taken aback by how meat like they were. Such an amazing product!

BYPASS or BUY?BYPASS - I hate to be the bearer of bad news but these were not my favourite "chicken" strip on the market. While they had a great crunch and texture, it was the inside "meat" portion that I wasn't fond of. They tasted heavily processed and when I bit through them, the inner portion kept trying to come out of the breading. It's important to note that for the price, ($9.99 Cdn) I was expecting there to be more inside the box as well. In all honesty, they're not the worst I've ever tried but I think I'd probably grab a bag of the Gardein strips before I snatched these ones up again. That's it, that's my verdict. HAPPY VEG

BYPASS or BUY?BUY!! While I think they could have amped up the flavour a little bit, everything else was literal perfection. They were so reminiscent of the McDonald's nuggies that started it all for me. They had the perfect texture, got gloriously golden and just the right amount of greasy out of the oven, and provided that perfect nuggie experience. I dipped in honey mustard to my heart's content and I couldn't have been happier whilst eating them. Get a box, get a dip, and get to eating! NUGGS - simulate.com/ HAPPY VEG
